Description:

This is the binary adding machine I once built out of K'NEX. (Technically, it is a "half-adder".) The video describes the machine and shows off my mechanical logic gate designs. It is one of the few videos on the Internet that show mechanical logic gates!

Haha, I am educated - I'm just not an expert at computer architecture. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be time to learn everything. :-) I mostly stick with high level computer programming.

Thank you for sharing this information! It would be pretty cool to make a full blown K'nex machine that had registers and memory, wouldn't it? I doubt I'd have the time to do it though.

I'm sorry I offended you. However, a "computer" is simply something that computes, according to most dictionaries. In fact, the first "computers" humans! WordNet computer noun 1. a machine for performing calculations automatically 2. an expert at calculation (or at operating calculating machines) [syn: calculator]

The "*is sent from the computer's input via the data bus" was supposed to be a comment in response to my comment "How a real computer works."
