Description: This is the part of a series of short videos illustrating various aspects of Australian Rules Football. The 1979 VFL Grand Final became part of footy folklore due to the sequence of play in this video. People still argue over whether the ball was over the boundary or not. However the umpires gave it the all clear and it made up part of Carlton player, Wayne Harmes, best ever game. Harmes won the Norm Smith Medal for best on ground in this match that Carlton went on to win 82 to 77. For the record, Carlton vs Collingwood is one of the longest standing rivalrys in any football competition in the world. As of 10/06/2007 these teams have played each other a total of 470 times with Carltion winning 243 matches and Collingwood 219. They have drawn 8 times.
