No I'm doing a History degree and one thing in it you notice is how much psycology it contains. Coz u gotta understand how a person would have thought about things at the time and how they would have responded to thing as well. It's called historyography where you have to interperate a person's point of view.

I just cannot believe what people did in cartoons back during the golden age of television/animation.

Wow! Iv just been pwned. From now on I'll remember my apostrophes, otherwise racist motherfuckers like you might think they can beat me in a debate. Now remind me why racist nationalist propaganda is a good thing, please.

Well, moron, this cartoon was less about race than about uniting the nation against a common enemy. No one cries foul when similar cartoons make fun of Germans because Germans are white, their accents, clothes and culture were mocked, yet there is no outcry. When a character is not white the racism flag is raised. Now go work on your phonics books, and play nice.

THe anti-german propaganda is racist as well, however they are less exagerated and they generally focus on Hitler and nazis as opposed to the people in general. The cartoon is not about uniting us against a common enemy. Its primary purpose is obviously making the Japanese look bad. It can be argued that in doing so it is uniting us against a common enemy, but why does it need to achive that through blatant racism?

This cartoon is simply a product of its time. It is not seen as acceptable today, and many will argue (myself included) that we've become overly sensitive. Also, remember that these cartoons were often made for adults and not for children, you can compare this to South Park making fun of Al-Qaeda. Cartoons became entertainment primarily for children during the 1960s.

South Park isnt propaganda, its satirical. Yes it is a product of its time, nd its time had flaws. Such as racism being so easily accepted. Yes society has become overly sensitive to somethings while not sensitive enough when it comes to other thinds. IE, very easily offended by this even slightly racist, yet many people are remarkably homophobic.

Oh whatever man. Also this cartoon was not made by the interior ministry of animation or anything like that, it was made by a private company just like south park. Are you saying that the creators of South Park care whether Muslim terrorists are made fun of or not?

The purpose of South Park is humor, whereas the purpose of this is nationalism. They had all sorts of shit like this in this time period (see Tokio Jokio) and its primary purpose is clearly not comedy, although it uses comedy as a medium. quote: Fuck them and fuck you and your mothers this cartoon is great and so are we as a nation. Im still wondering what in your opinion makes this cartoon so great? I dont think racist propaganda necesarily equals greatness.

I still think this cartoon is great. It was made in a time when people weren't so PC. I'd love to have those days back. What I want to know is; what's wrong with nationalism?
